TEACHER’S TRAINING POLICY

TEACHER’S TRAINING POLICY

Introduction

Newly recruited faculty members, even after completing their studies at a business institute, require essential training to ensure they can deliver high-quality education. Proper training enables them to make meaningful contributions to their field in the short term while creating a lasting impact on the institution over time. To achieve this, faculty members must strategically plan their professional development to build a successful and impactful academic career.

  1. Faculty Induction Program (FIP)

The Faculty Induction Program is designed to equip new faculty members with the necessary skills to enhance their teaching effectiveness. It focuses on structured lesson planning, effective classroom engagement, and communication skills development. Additionally, it emphasizes ethical teaching practices, continuous knowledge enhancement, and lifelong learning.

During this training, faculty members will:

  • Gain insights into the current landscape and challenges of management education, along with their roles and responsibilities.
  • Understand learning psychology and modern pedagogical approaches to create engaging and effective teaching strategies.
  • Develop lesson planning skills and improve instructional delivery, ensuring clear communication in diverse teaching scenarios.
  • Cultivate professional values, ethical standards, and a holistic approach to education.
  • Familiarize themselves with ICT tools and digital resources for an interactive and technology-driven teaching process.
  • Learn best practices in student assessment, evaluation techniques, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Receive training in research methodology, problem-solving techniques, and guiding students in research projects.
  • Observe and practice effective teaching methods, practical class organization, and hands-on training techniques.
  • Acquire knowledge about administrative processes, financial management, and institutional regulations beyond their teaching responsibilities.

This induction program runs parallel to the one-year probation period for newly appointed faculty members. The training may be delivered through a combination of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and in-person sessions.

  1. Faculty Development Program (FDP) for Experienced Faculty (Beyond One Year)

Once faculty members have completed their first year, they require continuous professional development to stay updated with new trends and advancements in management education. The FDP focuses on:

  • Specialized refresher courses to keep faculty updated on emerging trends and key developments in their field.
  • Training in curriculum development, research material creation, and best teaching and research practices.
  • Departmental growth strategies, motivation techniques, and methods to enhance faculty efficiency.
  • Engagement with distinguished speakers and industry experts who have made significant contributions to management education.
  • Participation in academic seminars to stay informed about ongoing research and advancements in management studies.
  • Mandatory attendance at a minimum of four seminars, workshops, or conferences each academic year.

This structured faculty training framework ensures continuous learning, skill enhancement, and professional growth, ultimately contributing to the overall development of both the faculty and the institution.
